Upcycled Soft Toy Workshop

 

Come and learn how to make soft toys from upcycled materials, felt, wool and natural wool stuffing. Using simple hand sewing techniques you will take home a lovely sofy toy. This course is perfect for both adults and children. Children under the age of 12 can attend but must be accompanied by an adult. Please email me to book a workshop.

 

Yoghurt, Cultured Butter and Labne Workshop

Cultured foods are some of the oldest ways of preserving your harvest. They are also incredibly good for you. In this workshop I will teach you how to make your own yoghurt, how to culture cream and then make butter using simple techniques and basic kitchen equipment. You will also learn how to make labne a delicious savoury or sweet yoghurt cheese. Please email me to book a workshop.

 

Wild Basket Workshop

 

Now is a perfect time for making baskets from dried leaves and pruned material from your garden.  Come and learn how to use your garden waste to make a melon basket for you or as a gift. So come have a slice of cake, enjoy the company and learn the ancient art of frame basketry. Please email me to book a workshop.

Wild Fermented Food Workshop

 

Fermented foods are becoming very popular as the health benefits of these ancient recipes are realised. Come and learn how to make some lovely vegetable ferments (sauerkraut, ginger carrots and curtido rojo) as well as home made fruit sodas. Please email me to book a workshop.

 

Visible Mending / Sewing Workshop

 

Using Japanese boro hand stitching techniques come and learn how to repair your favourite piece of clothing. This hand sewing technique uses the features of the rips with contrasting fabric and "rice" stiches to create beautiful hand mended clothing. Come and sit by the fire with a cup or tea and a piece of cake. Great company and you'll learn a lovely gentle ancient skill that will last you a lifetime.

Wild Spinning Workshop

Come and learn how to make your own clay spindle whorls and wooden spindle shaft. Then learn how spin wool on your own hand made spindle whorl. Spindles are an ancient way of spinning, they are simple to make and can produce beautiful fibre. They are also transportable so you can take them with you. You will leave the workshop with a simple top whorl spindle, some wool roving and the knowledge of how to spin on it.
