More Spindle Whorls

They are such fun to make and use. Looking like little sea urchins in a lovely bowl made by my ceramicist friend Stephanie Hammill.

Playing with handmade spindles is connecting to all those ancestors before. My woodworking skills are up to the challenge of carving some shafts with notches in both ends, meaning that they can be used as both top and low whorl spindles.
