The wonderful world of winter baskets

It's been basket making time at Shipwright's Cottage. The garden is full of materials that need pruning so I've been making melon baskets and preparing materials for our upcoming basketry class next week.
I've been using lovely bulrushes from a friend for the weave and grape and bramble prunings for the frames. I've also got cordaline and sword grass to play with too.

Both little and big baskets can be made this way and they have so much character.
